Caitlynn smiled back as she munched on her pastry. "People are right or wrong according to their own minds. Sometimes they're even theoretically right, but we won't go there."
"Doesn't bother me." She shrugged non-chalantly. "I admire all sorts of art other people would think eccentric or just plain weird. I guess it comes from having a mother that excells in alchemy."
Her attention was drawn to the interrupting party of boys. She seemed to sit in her chair a bit straighter as she observed them through dangerously glittering eyes. "Not that it's any of your business, but I came here with Jack of my own freee will. For you to suggest that he would have to pay me or that I am blind is not only untrue, it is something you should all be ashamed of." Her glittering eyes narrowed slightly.
"Now if you will kindly mind your own business, we were talking and having a rather good time before you all barged in." So saying, she turned from them back to Jack, looking almost mischievous.

All of the boys went 'OOOO' loudly mocking her. And he could hve sworn that one of them made a comment under their breath about Feli. He ignored it. He actually hadn't thought about Feli the whole time.
he loved that twinkle hat Caitlyn had gottne in her eye. And the slytherin's opposite had settled. He returned to his normal colour. Just.'That was awesome.' He said honestly.
He went back to what she was saying before, 'Alchemy huh? That's cool. What about your Dad?' He hope dhe hadn't put his foot in it like so many times before.

Caitlynn ignored their mocking 'Oooo's, pretending they didn't exist. When they finally left and Jack spoke, she smiled a bit and shrugged just visibly.
"I suppose you could say that proves that even a shy person can conquer the world or stand up for what they know to be fact. It wasn't much really, but it worked seeing as they're now leaving us be."
She smiled. "My dad works in the Department of Mysteries at the Ministry of Magic. He loves working there a lot, even if he can't tell us a lot of what goes on during his day. Mum and I hardly mind though. We know that if he could tell us he would."

Jack was just a little impressed. A relative in the Minisetry. He hoped when he was older to perhaps workin the ministry. But that was long way off from now.
'I've got Muggle parents.' That was really enough said.Nothing interesting about them. 'I'd love to have magical folks.Oh well, you always want what you can't have.'

Caitlynn nodded. "Yes, it's part of life. Besides, there's nothing wrong with Muggles, they're industrious in their own realm. Dad says they come up with some pretty clever appliances. I can't imagine some of my life without them."
She looked around the shop curiously as she munched on her pastry. "So do you have a favorite subject at Hogwarts? I know it's a silly question, but I'm curious. Everyone always has a different answer than the last person."

'I just wsh they weren't so....' Jack chose his words carefully. Although he did love is parents, he wished he could change his heritage. '...ordinary.'
'Potions ,' he said definetly. 'I find that I am enjoying it less at the moment. Coursework tends to spoil a subject, but I have a knack for it, it'd be stupid t give it up now. I just can't abide essay writing.' He paused for a moment, most girls didn't enjoy potions. He'd never thought of it before. 'Don't apologise, different people's interests, makes life interesting...' It was something along those lines anyway.
'What about you?'

"They're only ordinary so long as you think they are." Caitlynn told him with a smile. "If I looked at my parents from a certain perspective they'd be ordinary, but since I look at them from a different perspective, they're anything but ordinary."
"Essay writing can be a pain, especially if you have no forewarning and the teacher just plunks it on your desk. Then you have no idea what to do because it's so unexpected and we haven't had time to prepare for it. It annoys me to no end when that happens. As long as I've had time to prepare, I don't really have a problem with essays." She shrugged with a smile. "It's alright, to each his own."
"I have all sorts of favorite subjects. Transfiguration, Charms, Arthithmancy, Potions, Astronomy, and Herbology. It's rather amusing how most of the subjects I like are the ones I'm good at." She giggled softly.

'I just always seem to get all the essays at once. I'll have nothing for weeks, then about 5 essays in the same week.'
'You sound very positive. I tend to be a little more pesimisstic about school. Can't wait to finish and start work to be honest. I maybe want to work in the Ministery. I'm trying to work out Work Experience at the end of this school year. It's harder thn it sounds.
You got any plans for the Summer?'

"Really? I've never noticed, but then again I tend to space out and not count the essays I do and just focus on doing them. In that, I am like my mother."
Caitlynn chuckled softly. "I try to be positive, it's not always easy. Sometimes the only thing that keeps me smiling is the letters from my parents. Other times I can't stop smiling for reasons I could never name all at once. I guess that's part of school."
"Plans? Oh, I'll probably help my mum in her shop and study for the next term of school. Not very exciting if you really think about it, but I enjoy doing those things. What about you? Any plans for summer?"

'I wouldn't notice 'cept I need to write everything down or I forget it... there seems to be a pattern is all.'
'What other than Work Experience? No, I hadn't thought that far ahead. Usually Mum and Dad and some other family go on holiday together so... might do that. Not sure yet.'
Jack felt so lame. Holiday with parents? Why couldn't I have have said.....
ANYTHING else!
'What time did you wnt to head back?' Jck didn't want the evening to end, but then again, Caitlyn seemed like a good student and he didn't want to be seen as a bad influence on her.

"Everything has a pattern if you look closely enough. Even the giant squid in the Lake has a pattern that he lives by. Patterns are almost essential to daily life. Without them some people have no idea what to do."
Caitlynn smiled a bit wryly. "I'm afraid that despite being a highly imaginative girl, I have no real plans for summer time outside of work and study. Then again, that's all I've ever done besides go with my parents to places all over the world."
"There's nothing wrong with going on holiday." She looked at him with a smile. "It proves there's a daring side to you. Well... maybe daring's not the word I should use, but I think you know what I mean."
It was her turn to feel embarrassed. Sometimes she spoke without really thinking about the words she was using, as she was so used to being among people who used archaic language.
His question drug her back to the present moment and she glanced at the clock. "Well, since it is the weekend I don't really care what time I get back. I usually stay up really late anyway, so it's nothing out of the ordinary for me. Whatever floats your boat floats mine, Jack." She smiled assuringly.

'Daring is definetly not the right word. Dull is closer. We always go somewhere where there isn't much to do. No other people usually. Mum likes the peace... It's just so boring. I then tend to create my own amusement... and usually getting told off for it. I don't know if I'll have to go thi year though. It's different nw I'm older.'
Jack smiled. Myabe not such a good girl after all. 'I was just making sure that I can't be said to be a bad influence on you,' he said honestly. 'It wouldn't be the first time... and I don't want it to happen with you... I don't know about you....' He paused unsure of wether to say it or not.
'But I'm having a really good time.' He made it a bit more light-hearted, that sounded so serious. 'Despite the idiots before.'

Caitlynn giggled. "There's nothing wrong with creating your own adventures, but I suppose parents can be strict even on holiday. Mine never have been, but then again they think that I come up with some pretty ingenious adventures. Of course, I disagree with them, but I never say anything about it."
"Bad influence? You? I somehow find that hard to believe." She said drily with a glitter in her eyes. "Maybe it's because I'm a bit of a 'slider' myself. Not that I'm anything like a 'slider' mind you." She giggled at the thought of herself as a slider. "I'd have so much wrong with me it wouldn't be funny." It was true, she mused to her self. 'Sliders' had a very bad reputation where she came from.
She shrugged with a smile. "Idiots are a trivial thing. After all, I haven't had so much fun in a long time. It's not every day I find myself talking like there's no tomorrow." She smiled as she sipped more of her drink, thinking how entertaining that fact was.

Jack was pleased to hear that she wasn't as good as she first appeared. 'Maybe I can blame you for being a bad influence on me perhaps? I'd like that. More often than not people say it's the other way round.'
He thought about it, they had both been tlaking non stop. It was just... easy... and fun.
He smiled, 'could even say I'm having a good effect on you, you'know like... drawing you out of you shell.'
The same could be said for the way he was behaving. Usually he was hard to get to know, but he already felt like Caitlyn was an old friend.

Caitlynn thought about his proposal with a smile. "Well, I've never been jokingly blamed for something. It might be fun to make people believe it's true." She giggled at the thought of everyone believing that she was a bad influence on Jack.
"Well you have after a fashion." She informed him with a slight grin. It was true, normally she didn't talk this much, especially not with someone who she had only known for such a short time. Of course, it did not seem like such a short time to her. Already Jack felt like an old and dear friend with whom she could plan silly pranks and neither of them would get caught. Of course, she didn't usually do anything one might label a 'prank'. It was more of a anonymous good deed or present.
