((ooc:Caitlyn only))
Jack had run as fast as he could up to the castle. He made sure he was out of Caitlyn's sight first, he didn't want her to think anything of it. He ran up to his dorms and grabbed the first jacket he could lay his hands on. Luckily it was his leather jacket. He hadn't worn it since it had been dry-cleaned. A cool jacket that was clean first time, what a stroke of luck.
He had then belted back to where he and Caitlyn had agreed to meet. She wasn't there yet. Now he felt a tad silly for running. He paused for a moment to catch his breath. He ran hs fingers through his hair. He wished he had run a comb through it before he had come down. It would have to do. He looked round. Maybe he was being blind... he couldn't see her. Unless she was planning to stand him up? It wouldn't be the first time. Not that he and Caitlyn were on a date.... So technically she can't stand me up.
The confused thoughts in Jack's head continued rumbling as the sunset dipped orange and red and the temperature's continued to fall.

Caitlynn made her way to their meeting spot at her usual meandering speed, figuring it would take Jack a while to get to the castle and grab a jacket. By the time she got there, Jack was already there, his hair looking windblown like he had been running. She then felt bad for taking her time getting there, for he was looking around for her.
She waved to catch his attention as she approached in her usual meandering speed. "You look like you've been running." She commented, looking him up and down. "Where as me, I took my time." She shifted on her feet, looking slightly embaressed. "I didn't know you would be running to save time." All of this was a bit strange to her, but at least he hadn't gone on without her.
What it proved, she had yet to figure out, but she knew the solution would come when she wasn't looking for it. She smiled slightly up at him after a few seconds of silence. "I'm ready when you are."

'I wasn't...,' Jack said quickly. '...honest!' He laughed at his own stupidity. 'I was worried that if I was too long you might think I wasn't bothered.' Jack said honestly.
'Let's go,' Jack said in response. He turned and they began walking in the direction of the cafe. Now.... what to say?
They had gotten over the initial 'I'm Jack,' 'I'm Caitlyn,' etc necessary introductory stuff. But what did you say after that? He supposed he didn't really know that much about her. However he couldn't turn round and go 'Tell me all about yourself...In 3, 2, 1 GO!'
'What house are you in?' That was always a good one, usually you got a good idea of the sort of person you had with you by their house. Jack could never work out many people's houses. Occasionally Slytherin's. But they were usually the trouble makers and easy to pick out.

Caitlynn smiled. "Well, you could have taken your time. I took into account that it might take you a while to walk up to the castle, then down to our arranged meeting spot. It's all good though."
" 'Cio velli' as my dad often says. I don't think it's an official language, seeing as my dad is known for making up words." She giggled as she walked beside Jack.
"I'm in Ravenclaw. The house of the wise, but sometimes even we aren't too smart. So what about you? What House are you from?" A cool breeze danced through her hair as she walked, carefully measuring her pace so that she was neither ahead of, nor behind him, but right beside him.

'Parents are we-ird like that.' He said thinking about his own mother and the words she often used that didn't make sense but fitted for her.
Jack gave small muffled laugh when he thought of his won house. He wasn't sure why he was put where he was, 'Gryffindor. But I have no idea why.I'm not at all brave or chivalrous.'
That made him pause. He didn't want Caitlyn to think bad of him though so he quickly made a subject change. He saw Hogsmeade in the distance though. 'Nearly there,' he said brightly. The cafe was on the edge if town and it wouldn' t take much longer to reach. Whih was always good. Even if Caitlyn wasn't cold, he was!

"Yeah, they are." Caitlynn agreed, smiling at the memory of her mother and father throwing random words at each other to pass the time.
"Well, perhaps you just need to find those qualities inside yourself. Sometimes you find similar qualities that could be considered the same thing. Or sometimes we just can't see what the Hat can." She shrugged.
"Yipee."

ooc: What was it you said to me? It's all good ! Don't worry!
Jack laughed at her 'yipee,' he hadn't said or heard that in years. It was so old it was almost retro.
Jck walked slightly ahead so that he would reach the door first. He opened it so she could walk through it first.
The cafe always smelt good. Like chocolate and home baking. He looked inside quickly. Luckily it was fairly empty. They would be able to get a table easily. ithout to much attntion. He didn't want people looking and judging.
But why would they judge? He and Caitlyn were friends out together. It wasn't a crime. Far from it. He looked back at her and waited for her to enter.

ooc: maybe it's just me XD
Caitlynn smiled as she walked in. The aromas reminded her of mornings at her house back in Oxbow during winter, with her mother brewing warm cups of hot chocolate to go with breakfast, then she'd set the steaming mugs on the table and they'd all sit down and chat while eating.
She had missed a couple Christmas's with her family because of unexpected tests or she'd forget and sign the list of people staying instead of the one heading out. During those absent-minded times, her mother would send her a sealed jug of hot chocolate she could pour at any time. She still had some from last Christmas when she had stayed over to do some extra studying.
"It's cozy." She smiled up at Jack, though the warmth was a bit strange after being out in the wind most of the day. "Reminds me of my house during the winter." She breathed in the smells again, feeling as close to home as when she read letters from her parents or drank her mother's hot chocolate.

Jack directed her to a table that was free. It was near a window and also quite near the counter so that he wouldn't be too far away when he got the drinks in. He pulled her chair back so she could sit down.
He then went round the other side and sat himself down. On each table there was a mini menu or the drinks and snacks you could have. He handed it to Caitlyn. 'I'm slightly boring, I tend to have the same sorts of things when I come here. Cinnamon whirl and Hot chocolate usually.' He would of course be paying for her, but he knew she wasn't really expecting it.But he invited her out, so it was definetly him getting the first drink in at least.

Caitlynn smiled when she saw Jack pull out a chair for her. He was certainly a gentleman. She sat in the chair and crossed her ancles as he sat down. She resisted the urge to giggle at him as he spoke of being boring and ordering the same thing whenever he came here.
"To each his own." She shrugged non-chalantly as she opened the mini menu. She read over it with interest, having never been to an official cafe before. "The cinnamon whirl and hot chocolate sounds good, actually. But so does cherry whirl and hot chocolate. Oh the choices." She tapped her foot softly on the floor, not making a sound as she debated over which drink to get. "Cherry whirl it is, wouldn't be practicle if we both got the same thing."

'Well, I think you might be allowed to try some of my cinammon whirl if you want.' But it was a good idea to get different, he would make she she liked hers before he started on his own.
'Just a minute then,' he went up to the counter and ordered. Every now and again looking bak at Caitlyn to make she she wasn't bored or anything. He tried to mae them sly glances but he knew that she probably saw her. He handed over the Galleons and took a tray with the drinks and snacks back over to their table.

Caitlynn nodded and sat back in her chair when he went to go get drinks. As relaxed as she could be, she looked around the cafe. There were lovely pictured of scenery both familiar and unfamiliar to her, then there were moving portraits of people and animals of all shapes and sizes.
It occured to her that she hadn't offered to pay for her drink, but then again Jack hadn't asked. Therefore, he was the one taking care of the tab. A particular picture of a smiling ballerina caught her eye, dragging her thoughts away from money. The ballerina twirled round and round as she smiled in a blissful manner, her white ballett slippers seeming to almost float across the cream colored practice room, and it was clear from the smile on the ballerina's face that she loved what she was doing.

He followed her gaze to a painting on the wall. Maybe she hadn't seen him, she seemedf pretty transfixed. He set the tray down and took first her drink and pastry off the tray and then his own.
He briefly smiled at Caitlyn before taking the tray back to the counter. He sat down, he looked at he painting. It was a balerina. Not his own taste. But he supposed art was subjective, and everyone had different tastes. Thats what made the orld interesting.

Caitlynn came back from the picture to see Jack sitting down again. She smiled at him. "That was fast, either that or I was staring at that painting for a long time." She smiled in a slightly embaressed manner before picking up her cup and sipping her drink. "Mmm." She nodded in approval whilst swallowing. "This is really good."
She then drank from her mug with the careful savoring of an artist. She set the half empty mug down and tore off a bit of the pastry to eat. "Enjoying yourself?" She inquired, glancing up at Jack from the bit of pastry she was holding between her fingers.

Jack laughed.'Honestly... it was a bit of both.' He watched her taste the hot chocolate. 'Is that your way of telling me I'm right?' He smiled with, so she that she knew he wasn't being a smart-ass or big headed.
He looked back at the painting, 'Not my cup of tea. But there again I suppose everyoe's taste in art is different.' He prefered Muggl Black and White photography. Still, and usually thought-provoking. He didn't say though.
He was glad she had started eating. Now he could start on his own pastry. Hopefully she would have said if she hadn't liked hers, rather than e polite and just eat it anyway.
He didn't get chance to say anythign else before he heard someone call his name. A group of Slytherin's, same year as him were sat on the other side of the cafe. The leader called over to the table where him and Caitlyn were sat. 'OI! Fraser! You manage to get a girl to agree t go out with you at last?' The other laughed. Jack turned awy from them and was a bout to start talking again when they carried on. 'How much did you pay her? Or is she blind?' They laughed again. His cheeks burned at this.
He didn't know whether to retort back. He didn't want Caitlyn thinking he was childish. Butt then again he didn't want to be seen as a pushover.
