One whole year. Aceline had survived a whole year at Hogwarts. Twelve months ago if you had asked her if she would make it through she would have denied it with force. Now... now she was sitting on the bank of lake staring out across the black waters in silent contemplation and awe. How had she survived living among a bunch of wacked out kids and adults for a year? She took a long drag from the white stick propped between her lips and fingers before pulling it away from her mouth and exhaling.
Oh, of course. That was how she survived - smoking, causing trouble, burning things. The 'usual'. She chuckled to herself bitterly and put the cigarette out on the back of her hand before tossing the butt aside. She sat up a little on her elbows to glance back up at the castle and than fell back to stare up at the night sky. "A whole damn year of lunatics and bullshit." She muttered in disbelief. Yes, after a year here she still wouldn't believe that magic existed and she avoided anything that might prove her beliefs false. She spoke to no one unless she needed directions somewhere, she skipped class constantly, and she went into Hogsmeade for food where there was at least one seemingly normal store that she could enter without too much hassle.
Ace sighed and closed her eyes. She was tired. She hadn't slept well in weeks. As the anniversary of her arrival at Hogwarts approached she started having nightmares. Dreams about her kitchen table being on fire or hands igniting. Maybe out here where it was cold she could finally get some peace of mind. Slowly, almost hesitantly, Aceline began drifting off into a light sleep, but it didn't last long as the first image that came to her was fire. She sat up and shook her head. "damn it." She growled, pulling out her lighter and another cigarette.
She had given them up a while back, but the stress of being at this 'school' brought the habit back with a vengance. It brought back the deliquent in her entirely. That was how she dealt with stress. She acted out. She did things that made her feel reckless. She picked fights and burned things. She loved to burn things. Which made her fear of her dreams all the more strange. She stared at the flame as she flicked her lighter on and gripped the f*g between pursed lips. She lit it and brought the lighter away, but didn't put it out right away. Instead she ran her fingertips close to it for a minute and then finally replaced it in her pocket.
Laying back down she puffed away at the cigarette and put an arm under her head. Could she survive another year here? How much longer could she put off accepting that magic was real? And what would be so bad about believe it anyway? A cloud of smoke drifted above her as she exhaled again and she dropped her hand with the cigarette to her stomach a moment. Maybe if she found a good reason to believe, or someone who made it interesting. Maybe she at least play along with their deranged fantasy. At least it might make spending another year there more comfortable. Ace scoffed and placed the cigarette back in her mouth.
Fat chance of something like that happening.

Donovan walked quickly away from the castle hoping that he wouldn’t be stopped by any first years along the way. They had been annoying him with questions since he had arrived at Hogwarts; questions he didn’t know the answers to. How could the new kid be a prefect, one might ask. Well, Donovan’s father was a big financial supporter of the school and felt that his son would be the perfect prefect (despite Donovan’s wishes). It was no lie; Donovan was nearly perfect. However, he wanted to rid himself of that perfect persona (and still maintain good grades if possible). Donovan was tired of people expecting so much from him. Girls seemed to be attracted to bad boys. No more being a goody-two-shoes. He was a demon, for Merlin’s sake. It was time he started acting like one.
Donovan had only been at Hogwarts for a week. Already, the teachers loved him, the girls thought he was cute, and the boys all wanted to be his friends. He might even be the star player for the Gryffindor quidditch team. While all of this was great there was still one thing that bothered him. People thought that he wouldn’t do anything outside of the box because he was so ‘good’. He wished that there was a way to still be ‘good’ but not be boring. He wanted to be able to be an excellent student, a ladies’ man, and a star athlete. But he also wanted to party, drink, and swear like other kids his age. He just didn’t know if he could have the best of both worlds.
Donovan made it successfully to the lake without being bothered. Tonight he set homework aside to just do…nothing. He saw a girl lying down by the lake smoking a cigarette. He knew smoking was bad for him, but he didn’t do it often. Once or thrice wouldn’t kill him. Besides, he knew magic. Health most likely was never an issue as long as the right potion or spell was at hand. He approached her quietly, not wanting to startle her. “Mind sparing a cigarette?”

Ace was merely pondering just how insane her parents were when she heard a voice from nearby. Someone asking for a cigarette so she figured they were speaking to her. She continued to lay there a minute, not even glancing in their direction at first. She was debating if she wanted to face them as there was a nearly one hundred percent chance they were from the school. In the end, Ace sighed and pulled out a spare cigarette, holding it up between her fore and middle finger gently. She felt that even though she may not believe the same things as those from the school - they were often nice people. She shouldn't be mean just because she thought they were crazy. She still didn't say anything, just silently offered it up to whoever spoke. She even pulled out her lighter in case they needed it. She switched her lighter into the same hand as the cigarette so she could grab her own as she was starting to choke on the smoke. She blew out a stream of toxic gases for a moment and then returned the stick to her lips to inhale again. She sat up as a coughing fit over took her. "damn." She swore briefly. She had left the thing in her mouth too long and the smoke had built up in her lungs. How uncomfortable. She coughed some more and groaned. She finally turned and glanced at whoever had spoken before. She raised an eyebrow at the boy, amused by the fact that he did indeed seem to be a student. It was late and had she cared about the school rules as everyone else did she'd be inside, tucked safely up in her four poster bed. However she didn't care about the school rules much. Who could care about something written by the deranged? Did this boy also not care about school rules? She didn't set herself up to hope that the people in the school were crazy. A whole year now... she knew that anyone who came here would believe. Which made her wonder once again why she was there. She put out her second cigarette on the back of her hand again and once more tossed what was left aside. She pulled out a third with a grumble. "Too much stress." She said to herself. This was getting to be a bad habit again. It had to be her fifth cigarette of the day and the third one in two hours. The closer it got to the day she arrived there though the more anxious she felt. She lit the cigarette, puffed on it twice, and then removed it from her lips with a long sigh. Not that sighing made her feel any better. Even the cigarettes weren't relieving the stress so she shouldn't be smoking them, but it was now such a habit... a nervous habit. A pain. What she really needed was a good fight. ((ahh... I tried to make it a little better... o.o; )

Donovan eyed the girl oddly as she ignored him for a moment. He dismissed it, as she probably wasn’t in a good mood. Personally, he wasn’t really in a good mood either, but he really wanted the cigarette to calm his nerves. Donovan continued to wait for her to respond when she erupted in a fit of coughs. It gave him the impression that she may be a first time smoker, though she didn’t seem to be. He remembered the first time he had his first cigarette. It wasn’t a very pleasant experience. Donovan assumed that the girl didn’t know that he was prefect. She didn’t seem to care that he had seen her out past curfew and smoking in top of that. Then again, she might have known but not cared since he was indeed out just as late asking for a cigarette himself. Donovan was starting to disregard the rules and the best part was, since he was a prefect, he could get away with it. No one questioned any of his actions because they all loved him and assumed that he was always doing the right thing. When she finally offered him the cigarette he smiled and took it from her. “Thanks,” he said as he put it between his lips. He noticed that she had held out a lighter, but though he has seen them before he had no idea how to use one. Instead, Donovan pulled his wand from out of the back pocket of his jeans and held it to the tip of the cigarette. “Incendio.” He took a drag from the cigarette as the small flame sparked from his wand, lit the cigarette, then vanished. He took the cigarette out of his mouth, exhaling, and then putting his wand away with his other hand. Donovan heard her mumble something about stress then grinned to himself. “Pssh. You’re telling me.” Glancing over at her, he wondered whether he should take a listen into her head to see what she was thinking. Yes, it was an invasion of her privacy, but he was nosey and curious. Besides, she seemed interesting and she’d never know that he was doing it. He could even use this skill for good by helping her with whatever it was that was bothering her. Not caring if she cared, he took a seat next to her and pulled the hood from his sweatshirt over his head. As he stared out across the lake he took another long drag of the cigarette then slowly exhaled, watching the smoke flow from nose and mouth. OoC: CRAP-ASS POST! sorry.

Ace paid him no mind until he responded to her muttering and sat down beside her. She then turned and took as good of a look at him as she could before he pulled his hood up over his head. She exhaled another cloud of smoke towards the lake and then ran her free hand through her hair. She was tempted to say something, but every time she started the words stuck in her throat. Probably because she had waited so long.
She drew her knees up and rested the hand holding the cigarette on one knee. 'Should I even talk to him? I don't believe the same things he does and he'll just think me rude if we talk. I won't have anything nice to say about people who believe in magic...' She wanted to sigh and put her head in her hands again, but didn't want to alert the guy to her odd behavior. In the end she took a deep breath and introduced herself anyway, pushing the words past whatever lump had grown in her throat.
"I'm Aceline, you?" Short, not too formal, just a simple introduction. There was no need for anything more. She reached down and plucked a few blades of grass up, twirling them between her fingers as her other hand brought the cigarette back to her lips. The wind picked up briefly and she let the grass go, watching it skip across the hillside a moment and then settle as the breeze did. "So you uh... go to the school I take it?"
She was pretty sure he did. He looked about the right age to her and he had a wand. She cringe a bit at that fact. She didn't even have a wand yet. She refused. In one fluid movement she stood, not to leave, but just to move. She walked closer to the edge of the lake, kicking her sandals off as she went. She walked to where the water was lapping at the sand and let it chill her feet and dampen the hems of her jeans. She wasn't too concerned. It felt nice even this late in fall when the weather wasn't too warm to be uncomfortable any more.
Ace had been feeling hot a lot lately. Miserably so. She bent over and rolled up her jeans so she could wade out further. She pushed her chesnut hair from her eyes as it fell into her vision and then turned back to the boy. The cigarette was still in her grasp and she took another drag, exhaling slowly, deliberately as she watched her 'companion'. 'Too bad he probably believes in magic. I need someone to talk to before I'm the one going insane...' She mused to herself, putting out her third cigarette, once again, on the back of her hand. No mark was left behind, but Ace never paid any attention to that.
Finally she didn't reach for another cigarette. She just left it. Instead she reached towards the water and pooled some between her hands. She splashed it on her face and ran her wet hands through her hair and over her neck. 'I think i have a fever. Great. Sick in a looney bin. They never take good care of the people in asylums. That's why no one ever leaves.' Ace chuckled to herself and shook her head, figuring she probably looked pretty crazy herself, laughing at seemingly nothing.

“Ah, what the hell?” Donovan said to himself in response to peeking into her thoughts. He concentrated hard for a moment until he could hear her thoughts clearly in his own head. He fought to keep his face from having a look of disbelief when she said that she didn’t believe in magic. How was that possible? There’s no way that she could be at Hogwarts and still be a nonbeliever. No wonder she was stressed. “Donovan,” he replied when she introduced herself. “Yeah, I go to the school.” She didn’t seem like she wanted to talk...but he didn't care. This whole business of her not believing in magic was quite interesting and he wanted to know more. Maybe he could convince her. Though, it'd be difficult if after spending any time at Hogwarts she still didn't believe. "Gryffindor. Seventh year. You?" She looked slightly familiar; she probably was too. Maybe he'd seen her in the common room. He tried not to spend too much time in there. His eyes followed her as she walked over to the lake. It was a shame that such a good looking girl didn’t believe in magic. If he had no luck convincing her, she’d have a hard time making friends. What was even worse was that she didn’t seem to care. Everyone wanted to be Donovan’s friend and he found it quite annoying. Most people were so fake that it was disgusting. He just wanted someone to be real, whether they liked him or not.
“So she needs someone to talk to?” he thought to himself. Donovan stood, kicked off his sneakers and socks, and walked into the water next to Aceline. “How long you been here?” Maybe she’s only been here for a little while. That’s probably why she doesn’t believe. He couldn’t even begin to imagine what it must be like for her. How could her parents lead her to believe that she was a muggle her whole life. If that wasn’t cruel and unusual punishment, he didn’t know what was.
Donovan watched her put out the cigarette out on the back of her hand without even a slight flinch. “So you’re a Fire Elemental? I’ve read about them. Never met one before.” He just realized that she probably had no idea what he was talking about…or probably just didn’t want to know. He laughed at what she thought next. She thought she was sick? That was funny. Now she probably thought he was really crazy.
OoC: Bah. Sucky post.

Ace saw that the boy, who introduced himself as Donovan, had followed her out into the water. "Gryffindor, yeah... I guess. I'm only up there in that tower though to sleep. I got wicked bad back pains sleeping in the Entrance hall and outside." She rubbed her back just at the memory. "I've been here about a year now. Spent three months sleeping anywhere but the tower. Three months ignoring everyone... I have only been to one class and I didn't understand it at all so I stopped going."
She chuckled and shook her head. It sounded funny to her to be telling him this stuff. He believed in magic and no doubt thought she was stupid for not believing, for avoiding it. She stopped at his next words though. “So you’re a Fire Elemental? I’ve read about them. Never met one before.” Her parents had called her that too. Aceline's mouth twitched into a sneer. "I am no such thing! That's something magical. I am not magical. I am human... a NORMAL human." She had the urge to spat, but refrained. It was a rather vulgar motion and while it fit her feelings, she disliked it.
She turned her back to him, her eyes flashing white in anger at just the thought of him thinking she'd have magic in her. Magic did not exist. Impossible. As he started laughing she turned back, her eyes not just flashing white this time, but staying white. "Hmph, and what may I ask is so funny?" She growled. There was nothing funny about being shipped half way around the world to go to some mental institution. Ace bent over and cup her hand. Dragging it across the surface of the water she sent a good amount at Donovan and then crossed her arms and glared at him.
"It's not amusing to be abandoned by your parents. It's not amusing to have to leave all your sane friends for such an insane reason as my parents gave me! It's not funny to be alone and confused and surrounded by people who don't understand!" She hissed, her voice breaking near the end. She felt like crying but she would not cry. Not in front of Donovan, not in front of anyone, not even if she was alone. She was better than that. She was stronger than that. She pushed aside the ache in her chest, but her eyes had turned from white to orange - though she couldn't tell.
"It's just... not... funny... Why would they play such a 'joke' on me?" She asked quietly, mostly of herself. 'I've been a good kid, other than that one year and a half period where I ran away and smoked and skipped school and stuff... but every teenager at least feels like doing that at some point. I mean it isn't uncommon... and then when I grew out of that phase I brought up all my grades to straight A's and never missed a day of school even when i was sick. I did all my chores without being asked, I got a whole group of new friends. I got a job. I did everything I could to make it up to my parents!' Ace rubbed her temples and sighed. Dwelling on it wouldn't help, but she still wanted to know why they'd do this.

“A year…and you still don’t… I mean, I could help you in your classes if you want. It’s not that hard. It just takes focus.” He couldn’t believe that she had been at Hogwarts for over a year and still didn’t believe. There was magic everywhere. Maybe she was trying not to believe. Donovan didn’t know a life without magic. Muggles fascinated him. He was amazed at how they were able to survive without magic.
He was taken aback by how angry she was. “Haven’t you ever wondered why you can put out a cigarette on the back of your hand without the slightest bit of pain or the smallest scar? Or why your eyes change colors when your mood changes? Or why you’re hot all the time? If you’re not a Fire Elemental, how do you explain all of that? You know, no one ever said you weren’t human. You are. You’re just a human with magical ability. That doesn’t make you crazy. It just makes you different.” Hell, he wasn’t even human, though he looked it. He would’ve told her, but if she didn’t even believe in magic what would she think if he told her that he was a demon.
“Relax. I’m sorry. You’re right; it’s not funny,” he said as he wiped the water she splashed at him off his face. “And you’re not alone. Haven’t you ever heard of Harry Potter?” Then he realized that she probably hadn’t. “Well he first found out that he was a wizard when he was eleven and he grew to be one of the greatest wizards of all time. There are plenty people like you. There are people whose parents are muggles and they, by some fluke, ended up being magical. You just have to cope and come to an understanding. If you don’t learn to control your powers soon, they’ll go out of control.”
Donovan listened to her thoughts and felt bad for her. “Your parents aren’t doing anything to punish you. They’re just doing what they think is best by showing you who you really are.” He stepped closer to her. “I think magic is a blessing, especially if you know what life is like without it. If I can’t convince you that magic exists that I don’t know who or what will.” He took his wand out of his back pocket and pointed it was his sneaker that was sitting on the shore. “Accio sneaker!” And with one flick of the wand, the sneaker came soaring toward him. Donovan pointed the wand at the sneaker again, this time saying, “Wingardium Leviosa!” The shoe now floated in midair as he guided it back to shore with his wand. “If that doesn’t convince you, this will.”
“I wasn’t going to tell you this, but…I’m a demon. I kinda don’t like to spread it around because of the bad reputation that we get.” He was anticipating a look of confusion, so he continued. Showing his teeth, he pointed at the pair of fangs that had now extended from his gums. Donovan sped out of the water at rapid speed and stood next to a tree. “Demons are said to be evil and blood thirsty, but I control those thoughts and urges.” Most of the time, he thought to himself. “And we’re said to have super strength.” He pushed against the tree with a little force until it fell over on its side. “Don’t be afraid of me. I want to help you figure this out.”

Ace stared at Donovan, anger building again. He was taking her words wrong. "I didn't mean no one had ever gone through this before. Hundreds of people go insane every year! I meant..." She stopped herself as Donovan continued and said things she just couldn't wrap her mind around. Why was he saying all this? It was too much!
And before, what was he talking about - how she was a fire elemental because she didn't have any pain or scars from the cigarettes being put out on the back of her hand, or how her eyes changed? She didn't even know that. Did her eyes change color? She never looked in mirrors. Or how she was always hot. She wasn't always hot. That was a fairly recent developement... since her parents told her that day in the kitchen and she set her table on fire. No! She didn't set it on fire. It was some trick.
When he started using his wand and doing spells she stepped away from him. "Magnets or something..." She mumbled to herself. Still retreating she stopped as he showed her fangs and said he was a demon. "Demon... please..." she scoffed, but as he took off from the water Ace felt sick at watching his speed. She stumbled back a bit, nearly toppling over. He continued still though this was all too much, far too much for her. He pushed over a tree and that was that. Ace felt her head spin and before she knew it she had fallen backwards and landed in the water.
Everything was black a moment, did she faint? Then the world came rushing back as water flooded into her nose and mouth. She flailed her arms, groping for the sandy bottom of the lake to push off of. When she found it she surfaced with a gasp, immediately followed by coughs and wheezes. She struggled to get to her feet, but she was unstable so instead she satisfied herself with getting close enough to shore that the water only covered her legs rather than going to her neck as she sat. She heaved herself a little further out and collapsed, spewing lake water from her lungs.
It took Aceline a moment to catch her breath after, but when she did she first looked up at Donovan with a very cold stare. She looked up too fast though and had to hunch over the sand until the world stopped moving in swirls. When it was alright, she tried again, more slowly and set blazing white eyes upon the boy... the 'demon'. "Are you trying to kill me? Jesus christ." She slumped forward once more and closed her eyes.
'Idiot. What a god damned idiot! Demon... oh man... too much. Too much.' She started crying without thinking, her eyes turning a yellow color. It was too much mental stress for her to deal with at once. Ace could feel herself shaking, but try as she might she could not control herself. She shook more violently as she made an effort to get up and move towards the grass a bit away. She was basically crawling on her hands and knees to reach it, but it was no use.
In her state she shook so much she couldn't keep herself up. Falling flat on the shore she screamed in frustration and felt sudden heat erupt from her body. She could feel her clothes drying and opened her eyes to see flames coming off her. She panicked and bat at them, but they were already fading and soon went out all together. Ace felt fresh tears coming on and curled up in a ball with her head between her knees and cried. What more could she do? She couldn't put into words how scared and confused she was.
She couldn't even pinpoint what was the most terrifying. Seeing magic she couldn't protest or having it come from her...

Donovan could not believe that Aceline had just said ‘magnets’. “You’ve got to be kidding me. I don’t have magnets in my shoe or in my wand. You can check it if you like. Stop trying to fight it. It’s undeniable. Magic exists.” Donovan watched, as if in slow motion, as Aceline fell back into the water. He almost didn’t realize what had happened. By the time it hit him she was trying to cough water out of her lungs. He ran back into the water to see if she was alright. "Are you okay? Do you need to go the hospital wing?" What was that thing Muggles did that looked like kissing? PRC? CRP? CPR? Or something like that. “No, I’m not trying to kill you. Trust me, if I was, you wouldn’t have to ask.” Suddenly she burst into flames. Donovan stood shocked, having never seen anything like that before. Then out of nowhere she started crying and Donovan immediately felt terrible. Maybe this was a bit much for her to be witnessing all at once, but there was no way that she could deny that she had powers now. Muggles didn’t just burst into flames like that. Once the flames were gone Donovan moved to sit next to her. He was a little afraid to put his arm around her because she seemed like the type of girl that would yank it off, but he did anyway. “Look, I’m sure that this is a lot to deal with. I can help you. I can answer all your questions to the best of my ability. You’ll eventually come to realize that magic is amazing.” OoC: Short and crappy...sorry!

Ace continued to just sit where she was until Donovan put his arm around her. Then somehow she found the strength to move and she scrambled away, tripping over her own feet as she went which eventually landed her back on her butt. "D-don't touch me... I... I don't want to be touched." She choked on her words as she stared at him, her eyes still showing she was weary of him, of him using more magic.
Ace shook her head at him. "It's not difficult. It's insane. You believe in magic and I'm sure you have your whole life. I went seventeen years without it. My whole childhood, nine tenths of my adolescence. How can I just be expected to accept magic and use it and believe in it? Maybe I'll come to accept that I'm stuck in a world full of crazy people and go along with it some day... or snap and use the stuff as if it is real. I will never believe in it complete though. How could I ever? How... could I?"
She ran her hands through her hair and wiped the remnants of tears from her cheeks. She then took a deep shuddering breath and looked out across the lake. "It's so hard to change ways that are engraved into you. I can't even imagine being able to. I really can't imagine believing in magic." Did she want to? Well it would be easier than fighting it... but getting back to the 'real' world and pretending this was a bad dream was even easier than that.

“Sorry, sorry,” he said as she moved away from him. Donovan was at a lost as to what to do now. He had tried everything and she still wouldn’t come to terms with the fact that magic did exist. It was actually becoming very frustrating. It was hard to help a person that didn’t want to be helped. He wished that there was a way to just magic her into believing in magic. But that’d probably freak her out even more.
“Aceline, look at it this way. Here you are in the wizarding world, where everyone believes in magic except for you. Are you trying to tell me that everyone else is crazy except for you?” He sighed heavily. “I mean, you can see me. I’m sitting here, living and breathing right in front of you. I’ve shown you magic, I’ve shown you my demon powers. What else could it possibly take for you to believe?”
He really didn’t understand how difficult this was. The proof was there. Why was this so hard for her? “You don’t have to change who you are. In fact, magic will make your life a hell of a lot easier. It just takes acceptance. This is real. It’s never going to go away. You’re not going to wake up one day and realize that this was all a dream.” He slowly stepped toward her again, hoping not to scare her. “Sitting here pretending that everyone around you is a nut is just going to make things harder for yourself. Come on, let me help you.”

Ace cringed and tucked herself up into a ball. His words entered into her and buzzed around. Absorbing them was a little hard though, but once she did she pouted, her lips puckered into a tight frown.
"Maybe you're right. Maybe the whole world isn't crazy. Maybe I am. Maybe I'm locked up in some nuthouse right now and hallucinating." She growled and rubbed her temples. "Everything is so ridiculous.!"
She looked up to see Donovan moving closer again. She tensed, but didn't move away again. She stared up at him and sighed. "You want to help me? Well I would first suggest you don't try to drown me in magic. No more 'demonic' powers, mate."
She stood up and walked over, leaving about two feet between him and herself. She knew she had to adjust because she didn't know how long she was going to be in this magical world. She held out her hand, "Deal?"
"You promise not to just dump things on me and I'll... try... to work on accepting this farfetched alternate universe." Ace looked away a moment and then back at him with a froced smile that looked more like gritted teeth and sneering.

Donovan rolled his eyes and laughed at what she said. She had to be joking. After all that he had shown her she was still going to insist that she was crazy and hallucinating. Maybe trying to get through to her was a waste of time. Helping someone that doesn’t’ want to be helped is like fighting a losing battle.
He raised his hands in defeat. “Okay. I guess that was a bit much.” What she did next shocked him. He shook her had and smiled for real. “You have a deal.” The smile that she was giving him, if you could call it that, made him want to laugh again, but he didn’t want to be rude. Instead, he cleared his throat.
“So…if you don’t mind my asking, why do you think your parents kept this from you for so long?” He felt it to be kind of cruel on her parents’ part to not tell her about magic. She probably grew up with strange things happening around her all the time, with no explanation. Why did they decided to tell her now? Why not let her live her life the way she had been?

Ace shook his hand back and noticed how he was trying not to laugh. She narrowed her eyes, but let it go. After all, she probably did look rather funny with that expression. Her smile came a little easier, but it was still forced.
When he asked why her parents would keep it from her she shrugged and turned to face the lake. "They said it was because I didn't exhibit any magical inclination as a child and most magical children do I suppose. Then Hogwarts didn't send me an owl and they figured it was a lost cause."
Ace brushed her hair over her shoulders and shook her head sadly. "All my life I made normal friends and did normal activities. I play soccer, not this... dutch... business." Ace wrinkled her nose and pursed her lips again.
"Anyway... whatever their reason for not telling me... I don't think I'll forgive them for it. Change my whole life in one day, that drastically... it's inexcuseable." Her voice was filled with resentment, but there was nothing she could do now except try and go with the flow. Or deny everything.
"I reject your reality and substitute my own." She muttered to herself with a smirk. Muggle games were amusing sometimes.
