Description:
Ace is around 5'7" in height, has a lean build, brown hair with red undertones, and lightly tanned skin. Her eyes change color from ash grey normally to red when very happy, orange when sad, and white when angry {all colors associated with fire}. She is the one and only Fire Elemental though she can't control it because she doesn't want to believe she has any powers, she doesn't want to believe anyone could have powers.
When Ace is her normal self she's outspoken and stubborn, but loyal and kind. She really has a soft spot for people who cry and she is drawn to fire too. {and I suck at descriptions}
History:
It all started with a talk between Ace her parents, you know the one... no not that talk... the one where you're sat down and told you're a witch or wizard ---
Ace's parents called Aceline into to the kitchen during her favorite movie and had her sit at the table. Her father poured her some sienna-colored concoction that smelled like pumpkins, but Ace scrunched her nose and refused to drink it. She looked between her mother and father in confusion. What was this all about. Hopefully no one died. Oh goodness, her grandmother was getting up there, but no the look on their faces wasn't that grave.
"Listen," She said to both of her parents as they sat before her. "I hope this isn't the 'birds and the bees' talk. I know plenty from health class already, thank you."
Her mother smiled softly and shook her head. Her father on the other hand just scoffed. "This is more important than any talk of that sort my girl. This is about magic, about your special abilities as a witch. We were wondering if you were a squib because you didn't show any signs of magical talent and you never recieved a letter from Hogwarts, but your magic was never tested. Thus we hope that we will find otherwise when we do so."
Aceline blinked, then her eyes began to change to understanding and she chuckled. "Haha, nice joke you two. Really though, what is this all about?"
"It's no joke, Aceline." her mother said firmly. "We have kept it from you for years now in case you didn't get any talent in the area of magic. We thought it would be easier for you to just think magic didn't exist than to know it did and your parents both had it but you didn't. We don't feel that it's right to continue hiding it from you any longer though. It's getting hard for us to keep it a secret."
Aceline took a deep breath. "You guys are good."
"Seriously Aceline! We aren't kidding you. You are a witch or at least the daughter of one. Whether you would like to believe it or not you come from magic. Magic is real." Her father's voice was sharp and commanding. He was telling her she had to believe in magic, but she grew up her whole life being told it wasn't real by almost everyone around her. How could she face that now it was suddenly to be believed?
She continued to fight them. Every time they said it was real, every time they did a 'spell' to prove the truth of it all, she became more and more panicked. Her voice rose to a near scream and suddenly the table top was on fire. "It's NOT real! It can not and never will be real! You're liars!"
Her mother's eyes grew wide with fear as the fire danced along the table top and down to the floor. Her father tried to douse the flames with water but they came right back. Aceline pushed away from the table and stood from her chair. Then she ran from the room, too confused and frightened to turn back as her mother called for her. She went up to her room and slammed the door shut, throwing herself on her bed and covering her head. After a while she calmed down enough that the tears which she had started to cry finally ebbed away to mere stinging in her eyes and she fell asleep. Downstairs the fire finally extinguished itself on the table and her parents stared at one another - half in fear, half in relief.
A few days later Ace's parents sent her off to Hogwarts with a packed trunk, saying she'd understand it all soon enough. They thought shipping her off to a school full of people who believed in magic, when she refused to believe in it, was a smart idea.
