Andrew was awakened early by bad dreams, he couldn't remember what it was, only that there had been a sense of foreboding danger, but he didn't know what, or where, from. He hated when that happened, awaking with the feeling of having dreamed something important, only unable to remember what had happened. If every time that happened, and he had remembered it, he swore he could have stopped half of the bad things that had happened since he was born, maybe even stopped his parents from walking to their deaths. he stopped short along that train of thought, the memories still painful. Unable to recall anything from the dream, he laid back down and tried to get to sleep again, the birds calls easing the pain as the memories drifted away once more.
It was still fairly early when he walked into the great hall for breakfast. Having been unable to get back to sleep, he had given up trying after an our or two. His time keeping in the early hours wasn't the best, but he knew as he walked through the doors that there was too much activity for that early in the morning, especially at the weekend. The room seemed full of students, even though there was probably only a quarter of the school present, they were spread out to fill the room, and their murmurs were easily as loud as during the start of term feast, though everyone seemed to be using a hushed tone.
He made his way to his usual seat, keeping an eye to the door for when Tris came down. He wasn't sure how long that would be, but he was willing to wait for her. He reached for some slices of toast from the center of the table, and as he was placing them on his plate, some kid came up and whispered, "Did you hear, some girl was murdered in the castle a few nights ago, apparently she was in Ravenclaw." He hadn't heard, but that was nothing new. It wasn't a Hufflepuff involved, so they would have been the last to find out. He didn't recall there being any school announcements made, or any meetings being called by the Headmistress, but then he might have just missed them. He had been more worried about making sure Tris was alright, although he wouldn't admit it to her. She was still a little too proud to be relying on him all the time, which made him love and admire her even more, as well as want to try harder to look out for her.
He started eating his toast, slowly so that he still had some when Tris arrived, although he wasn't sure how long that would be. It couldn't have been much after eight, more likely closer to seven, and she still needed a lot of rest. He doubted she would like the idea of a strict bed time, and having to get lots of sleep every night, but at least he could let her have a lie in at weekends, followed by a decent breakfast. She was already getting stronger, but that didn't stop him worrying about her. He loved her, with all his heart, and would never stop worrying about her.
