Escaping the Librarian (invite only)

[Dane]

Dane watched carefully for the librarian before standing up. When he saw that she was going down another aisle, he hopped up silently and followed Adara out of the library. He walked stealthily with her, partially enticed by the allure of her voice and of course, what lay ahead.

He thought of a location they could go where they wouldn't be interrupted and one place came to his mind. The Room of Requirements. He had never attended Hogwarts before but was well aware of its layout. He grabbed Adara's hand and led her along the halls towards the seventh floor.

Once he reached his destination, he paced in front of the banner of the Barnby guy he had heard of. Romantic Place where we can't be interrupted he thought before the door to the room appeared. "Shall we?" he asked bowing slightly and indicating to the now opened door. He looked up at her with playful eyes, a smirk firmly planted on his blush colored lips.

Adara followed him willingly, and realized as they wound their way through the castle that they were heading for the Room of Requirements. She'd thought of it herself, but clearly he hadn't needed her help for the idea, so she kept her mouth shut. One thing Adara had figured out about men was that they liked to take the lead; so she'd let them be in charge, and mold herself to their choices. It was one of the things that made her irresistable to guys like Dane.

She waited with a bored expression as he summoned the door to the RoR, but she was actually rather curious. What setting would he provide for them? She had a feeling it would be something romantic, but nevertheless, one could never be sure with guys. She'd encountered many like Dane before, but there was always something that made them different, and Adara couldn't always place it until after she'd spent some time with them.

The door appeared, and she grinned at his 'bow.' Adara loved it when guys did things like that; she wasn't sure why, exactly, she just did. She walked over to the door, swinging her hips in such a manner that they weren't moving too extravagantly but regardless would attract the attention of any males in the general vicinity--namely, Dane. She opened the door slowly for theatrical affect, and absolutely loved what she saw inside.

There was a fireplace filled with flickering yellow, orange, and red flames, which gave the room a lovely warm glow. Otherwise there were no lights. Set in front of the fire at just the right distance was a couch--a loveseat, technically, since it was a two-seater--that looked very comfortable, and Adara had a strange urge to jump over the back and sink into the cushions on the front. A small table resided to the right of the couch, and two bottles of butterbeer were waiting for them.

Adara walked slowly inside, kicking off her shoes--flip flops, despite the growing cold outside--so that she could feel the soft, plush carpet beneath her feet. Turning to raise an eyebrow and smile at Dane, she admitted to him, "You're good, I'll give you that. You forgot the chocolate, though..." Her tone was sure to tell him she was kidding...mostly.

She sped up, shedding her school robes and letting them drop to the floor on her way, revealing a slim but curvy figure donning clingy jeans and a deep crimson halter top that, once past her chest, went from tight-fitting to loose and billowy. It was one of her favorite outfits, and she was incredibly happy that she'd chosen to wear it today. Adara walked around the couch, resisting the urge to jump onto it, and grabbed a butterbeer on her way to sit down on the seat farther away from the table.

[Dane]

Dane raised an eyebrow as he watched her walk into the room, hips swinging. damn.... he thought with a devilish grin before following her inside. He looked around the room and noticed its fine details. Hmm, not too bad if I say so myself he thought with another grin.

He looked at Adara who now was looking to him. He shrugged modestly but still smirked. "What can I say, I have a knack for these kinds of things," he smiled at her charmingly. "Oh darn, I guess I did. Well, that could be fixed if you like?" He pointed over her shoulder where a small tray of chocolate frog packages sat. He knew she was joking, but it was a good thing to give her what she would want, then maybe he would get what he wants.

Dane smiled as he saw her walk around the couch to a chair in a pair of tight jeans and a halter top. damn... he thought again with his signature smirk. He shed his own jacket, leaving him in a fitting T-shirt and a pair of jeans. He kicked off his own shoes and followed her.

Once she had sat down, he bent over her and planted a kiss on her cheek before moving to her neck. "You look really good," he whispered huskily in her ear, another devilish grin planted on his lips as he kissed right where the ear connects to the neck.

Adara glanced over to where he motioned and saw the chocolate frogs. She chuckled lightly and said in an equally light tone, "Well then, I guess you're just perfect, aren't you?" She took a swig of butterbeer, staring at him with a devilish twinkle in her eye that said, Oh look, I just mocked you! Hahaha...

She'd seen him looking at her, too, and had supressed a smirk with all the control she could muster. Better for him not to know certain things that she knew, right?

Adara almost blushed at the kiss on the cheek--quite frankly, she hadn't expected it. When she was alone in a darkened room, sitting on a couch with a guy as arrogant as Dane here, they were kissing her places other than her cheek. Sure enough, his lips were moving south, even if it was only to the crook of flesh where her ear connected to her neck. Adara made sure to tilt her head to the side just before he kissed her, returning his devilish grin with her own smirk and a sarcastic comment.

"Only really good? That's odd. You see, you look really good, too, but I was sure I look better..." She turned her head a little and nipped at the underside of his chin with her teeth, right at the edge of the scruffy excuse for a beard (or was it a goatee?). That uncomfortable knot in her stomach was starting to make its reappearance, but she ignored it. Couldn't be anything serious, after all; it was just a feeling. She didn't trust her feelings anymore--not the ones from her gut, anyway.

[Dane]

Dane had to bite his lip and hold in a small groan when he felt her teeth nip near his neck. No, she can't find it that easily he thought to himself and slowly opened his eyes. He took a deep breath and leaned down once more, running kisses down her neck and across her shoulder. He slowly turned around so that soon enough he was standing in front of her.

Placing one hand on her thigh, he reached the other and cupped the side of her face before bringing his lips to meet hers. He pressed them quickly against hers, lust seeping out of him like an opened wound. His hand slid up and down her thigh in a slow motion, knowing that it would drive her crazy.

He ran his tongue across his lips and seemingly asked for permission to enter hers. His body was moving towards her, wanting to feel the warmth from her body against his.

In his mind, he was kissing one person. No matter what he was doing, he couldn't get her out of his mind. Before this went any farther, he had to stop. There was no denying it now. He abruptly pulled away from Adara and walked towards the fireplace.

"damn it" he mumbled to himself. Not turning to look at her, shame evident on his delicate face, he apologized. "I can't do this I'm sorry."

Adara noticed his reaction to her little bite. She almost raised an eyebrow. Wow...interesting...I think I've just found his weak spot... She REALLY wanted to smirk, but knew better than to reveal the fact that she held very important knowledge about him.

Instead of doing what she most wanted to do (gloat), Adara arched her neck sideways to let him kiss it, smiling lazily at the sweetness in it. She was dealing with an expert, of course, so it was expected that he'd be knowledgeable as to how to make a girl go crazy. But she generally knew how to make guys crazy...and she knew now how to drive him wild in particular...

His hand found her leg and she shivered very slightly. Oh, it felt so nice to be touched there...the spurts of pleasure from the nerve endings beneath her jeans and skin was positively maddening. She didn't really mind that he knew how to make her shudder, though; that was part of her power. In letting him use her as he will, Adara could learn more about him, please him more. She basically lived to please...just in a different manner than the cliche was intended for.

She met his lips with hers, equally passionate, and was beginning to part her lips for him when he pulled away, seemingly disturbed. Adara frowned; this was odd. Then, with a mental cringe, she remembered that he was in love, or infatuated, or...well, something along those lines.

With a sigh, Adara let her head fall back against the couch cushions, studying him intently. "It's her, isn't it?" she said in a soft voice--she wasn't hurt, even if it sounded like it, her eyes betrayed no such emotion. No, she merely knew the symptoms, had seen the signs, and had a feeling that this obsession might be too powerful for her to overcome with her body alone.

"Let me guess..." she began, trying her best to avoid sarcasm, but not entirely succeeding, "You're kissing me, and liking it, but all of a sudden her face pops into your head, and the memories come crashing down on you, making it impossible to think clearly, or to gain any pleasure from what you're doing." While her tone was slightly sarcastic, there was something else to it--something like a bitter resentment, drawn out of the dregs of her past and refusing to drain away...

[Dane]

Dane looked shamefully at the ground. He shuffled his feet and groaned angrily. This wasn't supposed to happen. He told himself that nothing was going to work with Kalir and that he had to get over it. There was nothing between them anymore, he had everything he wanted or needed in this girl sitting behind him and he was throwing it all away. What was wrong with him? He would kill to have this kind of fun years ago. So why did it feel so wrong?

He turned around and faced Adara as her words floated in the air. She was right. Everything she said, everything she implied, was right. He was in love with Kalir. There was no hiding it. When he kissed Adara, all he could see, all he could sense, was Kalir. It was maddening. She was like some drug, to which he was hopelessly addicted. There was no breaking the hold she had on him.

He stood speechless for a moment before groaning and slamming his fist against the wall, a sickening thud echoing through the quiet room. His eyes narrowed and he felt tremors go through his body as his anger steadily grew. The animal within him was practically clawing away at him, wanting to be let free. It had been a long time since he had experience the desire, no the need, to go to his lycan form to do some real damage.

Dane directed his glance at Adara, and his gaze softened. This wasn't her fault. She had told him before that it wouldn't work, that he was hopelessly in love. Had he listened? Of course not. That just wasn't him. He grumbled at her tone slightly but noticed something else within it. But what was it? She seemed so zoned in on how he was feeling. Could it be that she herself had felt the same way?

"And I suppose you know all about this right?" he snapped at her. His anger was getting the best of him and he was slowly loosing control. "What do you know? You just try to get whatever you want. I bet you were in this kind of a situation too. So who was it? Some guy break your heart? Leave you for someone else? Tell you that you weren't good enough? Come on sweetheart I've got all the time in the world." He sneered at her, losing his charming edge.

A Dane was making its way out of him, one that hadn't been released for a long time. The anger was bubbling inside of him like a potion, growing and growing until it has to explode. The only outlet he had was sitting before him; young, beautiful, witty and vulnerable. He could do whatever the hell he wanted and there was nothing she could do about it.

[Adara Lentriste]

Adara's eyebrows shot downward with her lips into a frown, shocked, annoyed, and maybe a little frightened, when he slammed his fist into a wall. He might not be human. That realization hit her forcefully, and Adara decided to be a bit more careful. He could probably do some damage if he tried, and it would be best if she wasn't in the path of destruction...

Oh yes, there was something inside him, some chained monster straining against its bondage. But her own anger was bubbling, too, at his heartless comments about her understanding, about her own past. Yes, his eyes had been soft for a moment, obviously acknowledging that it wasn't her fault, but Adara immediately regretted the cool sarcasm in her previous statements. This could get ugly...

His words stabbed her like a dagger, right through her chest and poking painfully at her frozen heart. Anger flared inside her, and her own demons were haunting her again, telling her to blow up at him, that he didn't deserve her civilties or manners--after all, he was insulting her, lashing out because she understood perhaps a little too well. Typical guy, she thought angrily.

Finally she couldn't sit still any longer. Adara moved with a catlike grace, springing up from her place on the sofa and moving to the far side of the fireplace. She watched the crackling flames, the soft orange light flickering and dancing with shadows across her features. Adara struggled to regain her composure, or at least to get her temper in check. She succeeded in the latter, and sighed sadly, the memories flooding her like they'd done so many times before, but not for a couple years now.

"Yes, actually," she said, her voice weak but frustrated at once, "you hit that right on the money." She raised her gaze from the fire and locked her eyes on his, completely serious and utterly sad. "I'd forgotten after a while, you know. Reducing myself to caring only for physical pleasure was working quite well...but it's unavoidable sometimes. There'll always be a scar there--" she looked back to the flames, lifting a hand gently and unconsciously up to her chest, and resting it where her heart stayed, preserved in the hardest of ice, "--and no matter what I do to forget it, it will always haunt me. At the worst moments, too..."

She almost sighed, but supressed it. It was bad enough that her voice was meek, it was best not to make things worse by looking weak, too.

[Dane]

Dane watched her with an icy glare as she jumped up. He wasn't quite sure what she was going to do. Would she try to attack him? He felt a small smirk come to his lips at the thought of her trying to hurt him. That would be amusing, she couldn't do anything physically harmful to him if she tried. His smirk melted away quickly however as she spoke.

It wasn't his physical being that was being attacked, it was his heart. Slowly, his heart started to beat a little bit faster, growing ashamed of how his words had affected her. Her voice was weak and Dane was met with a wave of pity. He had taken his anger out on this poor, vulnerable girl...though she could clearly take care of herself if she wanted too.

Their eyes locked, and he couldn't look away. The emotions that were practically pooring out of her were beginning to be too much. It was overwhelming how fast he could go from being a complete jackass to being a sensitive guy in no time flat. His eyes bore into hers, trying to communicate that he was sorry for speaking towards her like he did. He tried to formulate the words but failed miserably.

What was coming over him? He was turning into a big softie...over what? Her? This was insane. He had to find some way to break the hold she had on him. He had to do something. With one quick and decisive movement, he swept Adara into his strong arms and kissed her passionately. He had to know if he could break the hold that Kalir had on him. If he could kiss Adara without guilt flooding his being, than he knew he was safe.

[Adara Lentriste]

She could see some kind of change coming over him--she wasn't sure exactly how or why, but it seemed that, for once, her thoughts and feelings rather than her body were affecting a guy. Frankly, Adara was baffled. She didn't let it show, though. She was still trying to force her demons back down beneath the surface of the ice encasing her heart, where they could never escape and she wouldn't feel them anymore.

All of a sudden she was in his arms, and his lips were on hers--and Adara kissed him back with all the passion and need she felt in his touch. She needed to forget again, and this was the foolproof method.

Adara snaked her arms around his neck, deciding to attack his weakness a little later, and pressed her body to his, her curves molding themselves to fit snugly against him. Her lips parted, and she touched his lips with her tongue, awaiting admission into his mouth to take the kiss deeper. She tried to focus only on this, and not on the uncomfortable knot in her gut again.

She had no idea what that was. Why should she have a tight, nervous, sick feeling in her gut? This was her element. This was what she did. For a few years now she pleased men and herself with her body, and never had she discovered such a strange feeling. Usually it was only pleasure fluttering deep inside her, like a fire coming to life--but this was different. Adara fought against its influence, determined to forget everything again.

[Dane]

Dane was surprised when he felt her kissing him back with as much passion as he had issued to her. He was expecting a slap across the face or something of that sorts after the way he had treated her. He was glad for her reaction though, he needed to forget.

He wrapped his arms tighter around her waist, pulling her even closer to him than seemed possible. He opened his lips slightly in order to allow her tongue to enter. His mind was racing with so many thoughts, why this was wrong. Why she was wrong, and yet he found that she still controlled his mind, even if he told himself not to think of her.

Something had to happen to get her off his mind. Part of him wished that Adara knew what would drive him up a wall just so he could escape the cruel memories that floated inside his mind. He broke away from her lips and slowly kissed her neck and down across her shoulder. He had to do something to make him forget.

[Adara Lentriste]

He wasn't lost yet; she could tell. The way he held her so tightly, the increasing need in his touch...Adara hadn't done her job yet. It was time to attack his weakness.

Of course, he made it a little more difficult by kissing her neck...but she just went with it. Adara arched her neck to the side, making his target easier to hit, and then found herself in perfect range. She brought her lips down onto his skin, kissing the soft flesh of his throat softly, with a gentle expertise that not many girls possessed at the same level as herself.

She focused solely on giving him pleasure; Adara knew he needed it, perhaps even more than she. Her pain was old, lingering, but his was fresh and sharp, and that was the worst--she remembered it all too clearly. Like an open wound, your heart bleeds emotion, taking over your body and mind until the sight of real blood is preferable.

Removing these thoughts from her head, she gently pushed him down onto the sofa, and, seating herself on his lap, proceeded to assault his weak spot further...

[Dane]

Dane eagerly collapsed onto the couch as he felt her lips on his neck. Well, guess she found it. he thought but soon his mind began to slowly empty of thoughts. She was really good at this, bringing him solely pleasure and letting him forget what was practically ripping his heart to shreds.

He let out a low groan of pleasure and relaxed his body against the soft cushions of the sofa. His hands dropped slowly from their place around her waist and rested on her hips. He traced slow circles and for the first time in awhile, was consumed with pure lust towards her, and not the other person.

Adara enjoyed the feeling of his hands on her hips--it wasn't quite as nice as when they traced circles on her thighs, but she could live with this for now. No doubt he'd get to it eventually--one of the most fun stages of this game was prodding at the other's weaknesses. She was already doing so to him, so she knew he, too, would do the same to her at some point.

She moved her lips across his neck, tracing a curved line of feathery kisses from near his ear down to wear his adam's apple was, then back up to under his chin, where the skin was fragile, and nipped it with her teeth a little. Meanwhile, her hands moved slowly down his sides and to his hips, where she massaged the tender flesh with her thumbs. It was a tested method that had proved useful in most guys, and Adara wondered if he would respond as well as some of them had.

All the time the sick feeling in her stomach poked at her mind and banged on the door to her heart, where the lock and walls froze everything out. Adara really wasn't sure what was going on with her--admittedly, she'd had this awkward feeling before, but had been able to ignore it. Maybe it was the knowledge that he was in love; she wasn't solely entertainment. More like a distraction... Shaking off these thoughts, Adara focused on putting more passion into her art, and drawing more from him.

[Dane]

Dane let out a soft moan as she nipped just under his chin again. damn she was good. His mind was just focusing on having a good time. As she continued, he felt his insides flip. She knew practically everything that got him going. Her fingers gently kneaded at his sides, the soft kisses that she brushed against his neck, it was all driving him crazy.

With a low growl, he flipped her over so that he was on top of her. He brought his lips to hers in a fierce kiss and let his hand wander down her leg and to her thigh. Now it was his turn to get her weaknesses. He knew of the one on her thigh, slowly tracing circles up and down it. He smirked in anticipation of her reaction.

He moved his lips slowly to her neck, kissing along her jawline until he was tracing a small path along it and onto her neck. He knew she had to have another weakness. Finding it was all the fun. He smirked once more as he thought of her reaction if he found the correct one.
