“Well I can not say much, I have never met a Muggle.” Amelia said with honesty. Perhaps it would make Kate feel a little better but it may not. “I believe that I have read they are quite closed in the mind…That does not sound right? Close minded? What ever it is I guess it means that muggles don’t really understand the same as wizards do.” Amelia said.
“I will not tell anyone if you don’t want me to.” Amelia said with ease, she did not like letting people know she was a princess why should the treat Kate any differently.

'Yeah, muggles have trouble comprehending the very idea of wizards and witches, faeries and other creatures are waaaaaaay out of their league!' Kate said with a slight laugh. She felt so much better after telling Amelia, it was like a weight had been lifted from her mind.
'I'm not sure what I'm going to do about telling people. I mean now I'm at Hogwarts, I could be a Faerie again, you know have my wings on show. But they are slightly crumpled, I have worn them in a harness now for quite some time. You know the sort of damage it does to them when they're folded and in cramped, dark conditions. I dread to think the sort of state mine are in.'
Although many people would question how one day she didn't have wings and the next, she did, Kate was very tempted to have her wings out and on show again. It had been so long since they had seen the light of day.
'You were worried I was going to say something bad about you. Weren't you?'

"Yeah, muggles have trouble comprehending the very idea of wizards and witches, faeries and other creatures are waaaaaaay out of their league!" Amelia smiled, she had read about muggles but never came across any because she was a faerie. She wondered at times what it would be like, but then again who knew?
“I'm not sure what I'm going to do about telling people. I mean now I'm at Hogwarts, I could be a Faerie again, you know have my wings on show. But they are slightly crumpled, I have worn them in a harness now for quite some time. You know the sort of damage it does to them when they're folded and in cramped, dark conditions. I dread to think the sort of state mine are in.”
“They can’t be that bad, and besides a little bit of training and you’re sure to be flying again.” Amelia said with a smile and look of utmost certainty on her face. “Gosh, I don’t know what I would do, I fly all the time; perhaps that is why my parents don’t want me to meet a muggle.” She laughed about it.
“You were worried I was going to say something bad about you. Weren't you?” Amelia bit her lip.
“Am I that obvious? I tend to drive people away. Some say I am too intense to be around.” She said and it was true. If you got to know her that is. She was shy until after the meeting. Once things hit it off she was a bit of a fireball; sort of speak…

'My wings... I don't know what I'm doing about them right now... ' Kate had to laugh, 'well, I can tell you now, lacking in Muggle meeting is certainly no bad thing.' Kate mentally grimaced as she thought back to all the Muggles that she'd met. Not meeting many of them would have definitely been a positive thing.
Kate felt like she'd hit a nerve with Amelia. She bit her lip and looked like she'd wilted slightly. 'You're not intense... just passionate and intelligent. There's nothing wrong with that. To be perfectly honest, if I had a problem with you, I'd just say.' Kate liked Amelia, she was the first real friend she'd ever made. She wondered how any one could not get along with Amelia, she was hardly easy to dislike

“Thanks.” Amelia said, she had read books written by muggles and found them fascinating, and some ideas they had about fairies was just quite silly. “Well, I don’t kmind helping you out anytime you want to give it a flap or two. The Royal section of the palace is private if your worried about being noticed. The garden is quite lovely to fly around in too. If your interested just let me know, and perhaps you can meet the rest of my family.” She said with a smiled hoping not to sound overly impulsive or demanding. She did want to help, however sometimes she wanted to do everything at once, and end up not doing anything at all.
“O, Thank you.” She smiled, she never was told that she was intelligent, at lest not from someone outside the family. That could be because few people visited her as friends. Making friends was a lot harder then one would think; you actually have to talk to someone! Amelia found that the most difficult starting point, however she was getting better at that. And it was nice to find a friend, the fact she was a faerie too made things a little easier.

''That would be great,'' said Kate. She had never really learnt how to fly. Her parents made her concentrate on Muggle activites as a child such as learning how to ride a bike.
''I would return the offer and invite you to meet my family, but trust me you are honestly better off without. Well, my Dad's side definetly.''she said with almost a sad sound to her voice. ''Muggles!'' she added in mock horror.
Kate was actually surprised at how easy talking to Amelia was and the fact that she was a faerie hadn't been an issue as Kate had first thought. Also she'd had bad experience in the past with picking the wrong kind of friends, but Amelia seemed nothing liek that.
