(invite only)
It was a windy and overcast day. Perfect for a Hogsmeade weekend thought Jack as he braced himself for the conditions outside and headed out. This weekend he hadn't made any definite plans with anyone. But seeing as he had met more people this week than the rest of his time at Hogwarts, he hoped to run into someone so that they he could possibly hook up with them, and hopefully not be such as obvious spare part.
He reached the village. He wasn't sure exactly where to go. He could always head to the three broomsticks and indulge in a butterbeer, but in the end he decided it was too early for such a sweet drink. He wandered aimlessly for a while stopping to browse in shop windows, seeing if there was anything that he could waste his birthday money on. He stopped at one window, the shop was packed, he was about to move on when he recognised one familiar face...

Allie had wandered into a random store on her visit. She had been feeling cooped up at the castle so she was glad to be able to get out for a bit. She loosened the scarf that adorned her neck, the heat of store keeping her comfortable. She picked up odds and ends, just browsing. Her parents had sent her some extra money but she wasn't sure what she wanted to spend it on yet.
Allie excused herself as she tried to maneuver her way through the crowd. It was starting to get a little too warm in here. She turned around and let her eyes drift across the wall to find the door. She caught a glance out the window and saw someone familiar. She smiled and waved to him, holding up one finger as well to signal him to wait.
She wove her way through the many students and towards the door. As she stepped out, she was met with a blast of cold air. She wrapped the scarf around her neck again and started walking towards Jack. "Hey. Fancy bumping into you. How are you?"

Jack was pleased that he had run into Allie again. He had been meaning to write to her, but hadn't quite gotten round to it. Well, he had started...about half a dozen times. But none of them had seemed quite right so all of them had ended up in the bin. He also didn't want to appear to keen. But he couldn't help smiling as she walked towards him.
Although he did sort of feel bad that she had come out to see him. He had probably dragged her away from her friends. He hoped that he hadn't brought her away from anything to important.
'Yeah. I'm good. Thanks. You? Did you get anything in there?'

Allie smiled again at Jack. "I'm pretty good. A little cold but I guess I can deal." Allie looked back through the window at the numerous people and the things that assorted the shop. She turned back to Jack and shook her head. "No, I was just browsing."
She stood there for a moment and folded her arms across her chest. The wind had picked up a little bit more and was starting to go right through her. A thought dawned on her and she pulled her bag off her shoulder. She began rummaging through it, muttering to herself. "I know it's here...where did I...ah ha!"
She pulled out a slightly crinkled envelope and looked up to smile at Jack. "Sorry it's a bit wrinkled. I was planning on sending it when I got back to the castle, but why not just give it to you now." She held out the note to Jack and silently hoped that he had remembered their agreement or she risked looking like a complete fool.

Allie triumphantly pulled out a very crumpled envelope from her bag. Jack took the note more then a little intrigued, he did want to open it there and then, but though it best to wait.
"I promise to you I will reply to you later,'' Jack said with a smile. He was definitely relived that she'd written first, now he may have something half sensible to write back to and not sound like a complete fool...
The wind blew strongly again, ''I know what you mean about the cold, you may able to deal with it, but I'm obviously a wuss compared, I'm going somewhere warm... care to join me? I mean if you're not busy or waiting for anyone or ....''

Allie smiled and nodded at Jack as he told her he would write to her later. "Whenever you have time. No rush." The wind had picked up more and was starting to chill her down to the bone. She scolded herself silently for not dressing better in accordance to the weather but shrugged it off when Jack suggested going somewhere warmer.
"You are not a wuss. I'm freezing too. And no I'm not meeting anyone. I would love to join you. Three Broomsticks sound ok to you? We could get something hot to drink. That would warm us up." Allie smiled and pointed to it just a few feet away from them.

(OOC:How did our one end up in the archives too............ ) He folded the envelope and put it in his pocket. He knew that if he kept it in his hand curiosity would get the better of him. He hopefully would forget that he had it on him until later when he could read it properly. ''My thoughts exactly,'' Jack replied when Allie suggested the three broomsticks. He walked slightly ahead, he probably should have let her go first. Hopefully she didn't think he was rude, he hoped not anyway. To make up for his possible rudeness, he pulled open the door and held it so that she could go through first.
He looked at her, ''Shall we?''
