Eilionoir bit her lower lip nervously when she noticed his expression of forced inattention after she muttered, without thinking, that having him was far better than nothing. She figured out too late that his hearing was much more sensitive than just anyone's, him being a lycan and all. Dangit! I need to start thinking before I speak more... she chastised herself. Acting clingy was not the way to keep a friend, and she was starting to feel like she was clinging to him...but she still didn't want to let go.
She paid rapt attention to his explanation about fun things to do. Hogsmeade sounded interesting, and she'd always wanted to try Quidditch...but she figured she'd save flying lessons for another time. "Hogsmeade," she thought aloud, "Isn't that the only place in the world where there aren't any Muggles?" Her voice betrayed her interest in the village; Eili was curious to see what it was like, living in a place where you didn't have to hide from Muggles all the time.
She mused over the rest of what he'd said for a few moments, and realized that she hadn't brought anything with her except her song notebook, her magic keyboard, clothes, and books--both for school, and some of her favorite novels and poetry collections. Eili frowned, pondering just how boring she would seem if he knew that that's all she ever did, just read, write, and study. She'd never even gone to any of the school activities, like dances, at Dalton--there wasn't much of a point back then.
Now, though, she regretted that she'd missed out on so much. She felt almost hollow, like there was just this big space in her mind where all her memories of goofing around with friends, failed and successful romances, and adventures during school should be. The problem was, she didn't have any, except for the ones from elementary school, though those weren't much, and she couldn't recall half of the experiences anyway...
