Normally he'd curse anyone who brought the light out in him. Except with Tele it seemed so opposite of that. Instead of despising the one that opened his mind to the lovely things in life, he was okay with it. Where was the harm in him feeling peachy once in awhile? There wasn't any, and even if Teleristy hadn't come out and said it she'd made him feel that way. Her actions resulted in a more human Mortifer. It certainly played a part in his delight during this moment. Him...a father. The idea was so crazy, yet felt beautiful to him.
Funny how things worked out sometimes.
He didn't mean to make her cry with his initial reaction. Not many vampires had to worry about pregnancy, and hearing it to his face was a real shocker. Thankfully he recovered quicker than he'd give himself credit for, and excitement took over his entire being. He had been jumping for joy in his quest to sit beside her. The feeling he had was so absurd, it made him want to giggle. Men didn't giggle. Vampires didn't giggle. Mortifer certainly did not giggle.
He almost could have sighed of happiness when he saw her expression change. She changed her sorrow into relief, and he could only grin at her. It was so hard to supress his happiness, especially when he felt that he didn't have to.
"Yeah, yeah we should. That's probably the best thing. We could ask around, or.. or... we could use those new human things. The....computers? Yeah... they have everything on them nowadays, don't they?" He nodded at the continuation of her sentence. "I think that there would be. There'd have to be..." he frowned in concentration, trying to remember if he'd heard much in all his years.
"Yes of course, I'd love it. And even if I was a bit wary of the idea I wouldn't leave because of it- I'd work through it," he smiled at her. No matter what he wouldn't just give up that fast. Besides, for a very unknown reason he wanted to be dad. To a vampire, at that, it seemed so much more interesting that way. He willingly accepted the snuggle, another thing he'd come to love. He hugged her, being silent and just thinking about a kid. The idea was so bizarre, but seemed so right. Teleristy would make a great mother, any child would be lucky. On the other hand, he wasn't too sure how well he'd do.
Vampires getting married. Now, Mortifer had basically disregarded the idea of marriage since becoming a vampire, and with that kids to. Did that mean he should propose to her? He loved her enough. He thought about it quietly, among other things. It would seem so weird, after the thousand years of him living, and never once having a relationship far enough for marriage. Could vampires really get married? Wouldn't that be some kind of crazy sin?
He smiled with his face against her cheek. "I'm quite excited," he admitted, in a whisper. If only they knew for sure.
